I am a senior nursing student attending UT Tyler. My group made the decision for our Community Project to collect items of need for Haiti . We would be honored to receive any donations you may have available as well as include your name on the donations list.
The project will raise funds for Mercy Works and Partners in Health, two nonprofit organizations that have direct ties to UT Tyler and Haiti .
The group will accept monetary donations on campus 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24. Tables will be set up at the UT Tyler Braithwaite Nursing Building, Herrington Patriot Center , Business Building and University Center . There will also be tables set up in the community at the Potpourri House, Café Taza, and the Broadway Square Mall.
Students also will accept items needed by Mercy Corps which will be shipped to Haiti . Computers will be available for those who wish to donate using credit or debit cards. Donor receipts will be provided.
Nursing students at UT Tyler in Tyler , UT Tyler 's Longview University Center and Palestine Campus also are participating in the endeavor.
