Our resident "drama queen" (she was a theater major) and self-professed "baby" of the KVNE family is Jennifer Winborn. Whether your "office" has a computer, printer and fax machine, or a sink, microwave and dishwasher, Jennifer's soothing voice is always there for you.

Ten Questions with Jennifer Winborn

1. When did you join Encouragement FM?

I started part-time in November of 1999 and was promoted to full-time in July of 2008.

2. What do you do now and what other job(s) have you held here?

Presently I'm music director and midday announcer. I was originally hired as a part-time announcer.

3. Where else have you done similar work?

This is the first and only place I've ever worked in radio.

4. Where did you go to school?

I went to high school in Bullard and graduated in 1991. I then moved on to Tyler Junior College and Stephen F. Austin State University where I majored in speech communications and theatre.

5. Describe your family.

I have been married to Matt since 1992. In 1994 we had our son Kiefer and in 1998 our daughter Phoebe Rose came along. If family includes animals, we live in the country with 3 dogs, a couple of cats, a handful of chickens, and some cows.

6. What do you enjoy most about working here?

Music has such an impact in my life. I am blessed to be a part of a ministry that touches lives and has no boundaries. God hugs many people through the music ministry of KVNE and KGLY.

7. Why are you working in this ministry rather than in the for-profit/secular world?

8. Share a funny story about working here?

Well it didn't happen here, but it is funny: Several of us from the staff work out at Premier Fitness and one night Jeff almost fell off of a treadmill. He was trying to look at the video monitor for the child care area to make sure that his little girl, Caroline, was okay, but he leaned too far over and lost his balance. It was like someone trying to ice skate for the first time, but without the ice. He was so embarrassed! :-)

9. What is your best memory/proudest accomplishment from your time here?

There is so much comedy in the day to day life of this Encouragement FM family. It makes being away from My family a little easier. We laugh together; we cry together ... we tease each other mercilessly! :-)

10. What do you hope to accomplish here?

Before I leave this ministry, I pray that I fulfill completely the goals set before me by my loving God and the wonderful leadership he has placed here. I desire to see this ministry continue to change lives and encourage listeners. I know that Encouragement FM is way bigger than me. God has his hand in this work and I am just super blessed to be a part of it.
