10 Questions about My Friend Fletch
1. When did you join Encouragement FM?
My first day was Aug. 18, 2014.
2. What does your job entail?
Many, many things… I was hired to be the Promotions and Outreach Coordinator, so mainly marketing. Then there are the Road Trips, website maintenance, some on-air work, and anything else that needs to be done. I really just do as I’m told with a smile on my face. I hear life’s better that way.
3. Describe your family.
My family is nothing short of amazing! They’re hilarious, fun, encouraging, and so loving! And I say this ONLY to brag on God’s grace… my wife is the best! My nickname for her is the jackpot! From my mom to my in-laws, what else can I say… I’m blessed beyond measure!
4. What do you enjoy most about working here?
I love how it’s not only acceptable to pray regularly, but it’s highly encouraged. Just in case you don’t know, PRAYER WORKS!
5. Share a funny story about working here.
One day, I saw Mike working at his desk. I saw some cookies on his office table, which is much closer to the door than his desk. When he looks at his computer, he has to rotate 90 degrees, so he’s not facing the door. Anyway, back to the cookies. I was wearing a bright green shirt, so very hard to miss (plus I’m 6-3.5 – 210 lbs, so I’m not tiny). I tip-toed my way to the table, quietly slid the cookies into my hands. And the cookies were still in that annoyingly loud plastic box. I secured said cookies, tip-toed my way backwards out of his door and landed safely in the hallway. Then I couldn’t keep it together anymore. I started bellowing in the hallway, which confused Mike. He was hesitant to think he could’ve been that oblivious, but the cookies were proof!
6. What do you hope to accomplish here?
It’s all about God’s glory. I want to show people the light of Christ, but that, in no way, stops when we leave work.
7. If you could witness one event in history, what would it and why?
I would witness the entire crucifixion process. If I saw what ACTUALLY happened to Christ, I feel confidently that I would take my faith much more seriously.
8. If you had one extra hour each day, how would you use it?
I don’t have one specific way that I would use it each day, but if I had to do ONE thing every day for that hour, I would either read my Bible or listen/watch sermons. SOMETHING that would help me draw closer to Christ.
9. If you had to choose an existing movie title to describe your life, what would it be?
God’s Not Dead – He proves it every single day.
10. What’s the strangest talent you have?
I’ll have to work on this one. I’m not sure that I have many strange talents. I’ll get back to ya.
