I was going thru the television channels and saw this interesting story about a Dallas-based company, Neighbor’s Table. They build and sell handcrafted tables across the U.S.
Sarah Harmeyer, owner of Neighbor’s Table says “it’s not actually about tables; it’s really about people sitting around a table and making friendships and connections over a meal.”
Sarah moved to Dallas for a new job. She only knew two neighbors and wanted to know more.
She decided to invite people over for a meal, but she didn’t have a table big enough, so she asked her father to build her one. Sarah used the app Nextdoor, which connects neighbors to one another.
Her first meal had 90 people! WOW! It was so successful that she decided to invite 500 people for Thanksgiving!
What a great story! Why not invite those in your neighborhood and start a conversation or maybe even a friendship. These days, it seems talking to others is somewhat “archaic!” Reaching out to others is a great way to make friendships and share about Jesus!
