1. When did you join Encouragement FM?

May 2, 2016

2. What does your job entail?

I am responsible for preparing financials, paying bills, making sure our buildings and grounds are well-maintained.

3. Describe your family.

I have a beautiful and supportive wife, Katrina. God has blessed us with two children, Henry Ryder (born 2011) and Ansley Kate (born 2015). We look for ways to serve Christ together in our church home and even around the world via mission trips. We also love the outdoors and love to go camping.

4. What do you enjoy most about working here?

I love the fact that the gospel of Jesus Christ has such a far reach through this radio station. Even though we live in an area with many churches, the radio can still reach the unreached in our area.
Second, the people who serve here sincerely love Jesus and try to demonstrate that love in their love for one another. We have a united purpose in making Christ known and that makes a difference in the work environment.

5. Share a funny story about working here.

I don’t really have a funny story, since I just started working. There is a lot of laughing here, though.

6. What do you hope to accomplish here?

I want to serve in a way that brings glory to God through modeling what it looks like to faithfully and humbly follow Christ. If what I do here leads to at least one other person knowing Christ better, I will have succeeded (Matt. 25:21).

7. If you could witness one event in history, what would it be and why?

Of course I would like to have seen Jesus on the earth, especially the excitement of His resurrection, but it is better for us to have faith (John 20:29). For that reason, I think I would like to have been present for Jonathan Edwards’ sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” The reason for my choice is that this was one of the messages that contributed to the Great Awakening and I enjoy so much about Edwards’ life and work for the glory of Christ.

8. If you had one free hour each day, how would you use it?

I would love to go mountain biking, although, I might need a little longer than an hour.

9. If you had to choose an existing movie title to describe your life, what would it be?

Leap of Faith.

10. What’s the strangest talent you have?

I don’t think I have a strange talent; however, my son is impressed with my ability to quickly catch a stack of coins placed on elbow.
