My daughter’s boyfriend (of 4 1/2 years) and his family are facing a very difficult situation. They are here from another country far away LEGALLY as a refugee. They have a meeting with court/immigration AND ICE on Monday & Tuesday (9/22& 9/23). They have been here for 12 years now and the daughter was born here. They have a great record and have done everything they are supposed to do according to US law. They have jobs, pay taxes, a driver’s license, and speak English. They are being told by their lawyer that it will be a hard “fight” and to expect to be “arrested “ when they walk into ICE because that is what has been happening to all others. Please join us in praying for this family. They all know the Lord as their personal Lord and Savior but it still isn’t easy for them or anyone that loves them. We know God has a plan and He is in control. We know that God’s will might not be ours. But still….
When this family walks into ICE, they might never return to what they call “home” again. They leave all their belongings behind when they walk into that meeting with no idea what will happen. How will they be treated? Like criminals like we have heard so many are treated? Will the family be treated with respect that I know this family will treat them and has always treated others? Will they separate them? The fear?
I just can’t imagine, especially when they are and have been here LEGALLY. So sad. Our hearts are broken.
