“An American sweet-treat that is perfect for the summer months.”

“What is a Root Beer Float, Alex?”

Root Beer Float PIE

The root beer float always seems to bring out the kid in many of us, and what better day to enjoy one then on a hot day like it was today (hello HI of 101!). With it being National Root Beer Float Day, you may want to carry on the yumminess throughout the week. Maybe even take-in a different twist on the dessert, thanks to Taste of Home for this one:

Now that I’ve made your mouth water, let’s look into what else was dished-out tonight on the show

*They keep bringing the hits, no matter who’s leading the group now. And with new music, usually a new album and new tour dates are soon to follow. That is certainly the case for the Newsboys, who release “Restart” September 10th, and will head on the road September 20th with for King & Country and Moriah Peters.

*Unless you’ve been inside the last few days, you’ve probably felt the gust of hot air midday, each day, better known as the HOT days of East Texas summers. Not only are there constant reminders to keep hydrated and cool, but now a Burn Ban is in effect for Harrison, Henderson, Kaufman, Sabine, San Augustine, and Shelby Counties.

*A little more protection is never a bad idea, especially when it comes to public schools. Robert E Lee High School is getting some safety precautions finished before the school year starts once again. A new fence is being finished that spans the length around the school.
