It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these, but when there’s a lot to do in a small amount of time, you can forget that YOU the listener may want to know a little more information then I shared on the show. Happy to give you a head’s up on what’s happening here in East Texas and hopefully helpful tips from around the country:

RECALL: Yes, this is part 24 of the GM Recall of Craziness that just continues to go on (okay, maybe I’m exaggerating just a little bit). So far, the company is quite a few million in the hole with numerous parts being shipped across the country to help make their cars safe once again. This next round:

  • Buick Lacrosse, 2005-09.
  • Chevrolet Impala, 2006-14.
  • Cadillac Deville, 2000–05.
  • Cadillac DTS, 2004–11.
  • Buick Lucerne, 2006–11.
  • Buick Regal LS & GS, 2004–05.
  • Chevy Monte Carlo, 2006–08.

If these are one of your cars, get that baby to a dealer to make sure the power steering and the power breaks don’t shut-off on you while driving!

They work hard, but you know you’re loved one wants that college degree one of these days. Well, if they work for Starbucks, they may have the chance of doing that, with either a partial or full scholarship given to them. A partnership has been struck between the coffee chain and Arizona State University so that full time employees can stay working at Starbucks while taking classes online through the school.

SCAM Alert: The BBB has come across a Secret Shopper Scam on Craigslist you want to stay away from. The post claims to send you a packet so you can complete a “Home Depot Survey.” What ends up happening is they’ll send you a packet with a FAKE $300 check, instructing you to deposit it and wire the money their way. Back away slowly and report this immediately.

Summer reading programs are happening everywhere in East Texas! Many you do have to register your kids for before the program begins. Some to check out: Longview Public Library, Upshur Co. Library, Rusk Co. Library, and Lee Public Library.

Story-time is happening for the kiddos tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at the Longview Public Library at 10:30am

Hallsville City Council meeting will be going on tomorrow night at 6pm at City Hall on Main St.
