The generations have an odd relational dynamic. The younger tends to take a dismissive view of the older. The older often has a critical take on the younger.
How many times have we rolled our eyes at something our parents said?
How many times have we shaken our heads at something our kids did?
I don’t enjoy feeling condescension from those decades younger than me. But by merely broaching the subject, I could be accused of being critical.
So what’s the fix? We’re called to love others as we’re loved by God, unconditionally.
Even those “other generations” qualify!
