This marvelous little wrist band keeps track of my steps, my miles, my calories and any number of statistics I program into it.
I wonder if it can read my mind.
If I simply move my arm up and down, it thinks I’m walking and registers additional steps. I could literally sit on the couch and move my hand around to “accomplish” my fitness goals. And it has to be true. After all, my Fitbit says so.
Admittedly, this is tempting. But who’s fooling whom? My device will will go off in a vibratory celebration as my phone dings and I get an email of congratulations for “reaching your step goal!” But I’ll know better.
How about you? Are you making honest efforts in your life goals? To love others? To do the right thing when no one is watching? What about making your family a priority? Or is it just about appearances, “moving your arm up and down”?
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17
