Peace: We’re Overstocked

Really? Overstocked? When it comes to peace, you might think our culture is anything but.

As we look around, there certainly is a shortage of the evidence of peace. But we just haven’t all used the currency available to acquire the peace we all desire.

Gratitude.

It’s impossible to be stressed when we’re grateful. My kids make decisions I know will harm them, but I’m grateful I have healthy kids. The country is in political chaos, but I’m thankful for America where I can work and provide for my family. The virus is spreading, but thank you Lord, for the ability to take care of myself.

We all have plenty of potential stressors, but we also have many blessings. Unfortunately our minds tend to lean toward worry, but we can turn it around. For every problem, counter it with thanks.

Then take it a step further. Start piling on the “thank yous!” Thank You for the beautiful fall colors. Thank You for providing for my daily needs. Thank You for your grace.

Peace, seemingly in short supply, is readily available in infinite amounts! It’s in great supply and never runs dry!

Again! Thank you Lord!

“Don’t be anxious about about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
