It seems like we are always so fast to criticize and so slow to show appreciation and gratitude when people do nice things just… because! This came across my Facebook News Feed and I just had to share!

Here’s a post from the Van Zandt News:

“A few days ago, a couple of my lady friends were traveling from here (Montgomery, Ala.) to Dallas. At some point in Van Zandt County they had a flat tire. They were way out there and were nervous wrecks. Low and behold, after a while a young officer showed up to lend assistance. His name was Billy Crow of Wills Point.

My friends say that he was a Godsend. He changed their tire for them. We would like to see to it that this young officer gets a great deal of credit for his act of kindness.
Our law enforcement personnel seem to be under almost constant threat and are the subject of all manors of derision. Officer Crow is the epitome of what I was taught as a child that an officer should be. I am now 69 years old. I will tell you this, that young man did more for public relations between our two states than any politician could ever do! God bless him. He’s a good one! You all try to keep him! May he always go home at the end of his shift standing, and in one piece.
Fred Marshall, Montgomery, Ala.”

Whenever you a random act of kindness, even if it’s not done for you, thank that person for their generosity. We could use more of that these days!

Has anything like this ever happened to you? We’d love to hear about it. Just let us know in the comments section below!
