For one day… Here’s a thought: Don’t get on social media today. One 24-hour period. Crazy, right? “Why?” you might ask. Why not? When was the last time you went one day without?

“But I have to do it for work.” Chances are you can schedule posts days in advance and be okay to miss one day, but the majority of us can easily do this.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with Facebook, Twitter, “Snap-gram,” “Insta-Chat,” or whatever your insatiable E-vice of choice. Like so many other things it can be used for 1) good, 2) evil, or 3) mindlessness.

My guess it’s often No. 3 for many of us. It’s so easy to get caught up looking at photos, reading posts, stare and scroll, stare and scroll. You look up and 45 minutes have raced by.

Why not try it? I believe it will be a positive experience. It will certainly be weird not to go directly to your phone or laptop when the urge hits. You may even do it without realizing. But as soon as you do, GET OUT. You may not get 100% abstinence, but you can get close.

I truly believe it will be an eye opener. I’m absolutely certain very little, if any, harm can come from it, and it could be just the breakthrough you’re looking for!
