Hey guys – It’s Carrie Parsons. I was about to go on a walk and it started raining…wow!

It’s really beautiful outside. I thought I’d share something that happened to me the other day. My phone broke. You’d think that was really devastating, but the cool thing is, I went to take a walk, and I didn’t have a phone. I thought “What am I going to do? I won’t have anything to listen to, I won’t have anything to look at while I’m walking.”

So I grabbed a radio and some headphones, and guess what? The battery was dead on that, so it didn’t work. So I was forced to be quiet, quiet with God, which was really, really cool.

So what I did was… I started walking! And I started praying. Then on the way back I started naming the people that I am thankful for, then quoting Scripture (that I could remember) and I started running out so I started over on the Scripture. It was pretty cool to have that opportunity that God gave me to just be quiet and still in the Lord.

So, I’m going to take my phone, now that it’s fixed, just for safety reasons, but you know what? I don’t think I’m going to turn it on. I’m going to listen to the sound of the rain for a while and then I’m going to walk and pray. So I encourage you to do that! Whatever you’re doing, just be still, and listen. Talk to God. Pray. Let Him know what you’re thankful for today.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46: 10
