What a blessing it is to live in East Texas! We continually see examples of communities bonding together to support those in need. Two recent tragedies struck the East Texas community. Instead of bringing chaos and confusion to the communities of Diana and Mt. Pleasant, the citizens of each town bonded together to create something special.
Imagine what it means to the families affected by these tragedies to see their town gather together to pray for them and share the love!
Here’s the story:
“The Diana community is coming together to support their own.
According to district officials, Luis Dells, 17, and Henry Dells, 16, students at New Diana High School, were involved in a vehicle accident, Saturday, on Highway 154 and Redbird Road.
Both were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Friends of the teens tell KETK Luis suffered a crushed skull and underwent emergency surgery to relieve the swelling. Henry has bleeding in his brain, kidneys and liver.
Monday morning, students and faculty gathered to say a prayer for the students. In addition to their own, they also prayed for the Mount Pleasant community following an accident where a high school track coach was killed and for Sam Martinez, the son of NDHS baseball coach Bernie Martinez who is battling an illness.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Luis and Henry in this difficult time.
