Carrie Parsons 89.5 KVNE Mornings
Mike: 89.5 KVNE, Mike & Carrie. It’s always great to hear a story of love, compassion, and people reaching out to one another. You don’t always get to hear those, but we’ve got a good one about a boy in Florida.
Carrie: Yes, he was feeling a little bit lonely, 6 years old, by the way, and he decided to take matters into his own hands. What he needed was a friend. And he called the only place he knew would answer: 9-1-1.
And, of course, it wasn’t technically an emergency, but the dispatcher went ahead and sent an officer out there and sure enough when the office arrived at his home, the little boy asked him to be his friend.
How sweet is that? So the officer took this opportunity, a great opportunity, to teach him about what 9-1-1 means, but then he gave him a stuffed animal and said he’d always be his friend. They took some pictures in the squad car and everything. That’s the sweetest thing!
Mike: That’s the kind of story to share!
Carrie: Yes! Yes! It just encourages us all to just do something kind today!
