Have you ever known anybody who just doesn’t like you? No matter how hard you try, they just seem to have it in for you?

Having heard this question posed recently, I was surprised to find I really couldn’t think of anybody!

It’s not because I think I’m all that, not at all! I’m sure I’m just not everybody’s Cat’s Pajamas. (I told my wife I would find a way to work “Cat’s Pajama’s” into a blog. I’m nothing if not a man of my word.)

But the point is that if there is somebody from whom I feel disdain, it’s likely just that. It’s something “I feel.”

After spending decades concerned about what others think, I’ve come to a conclusion: It not only doesn’t matter, it’s not even an issue! (Unless I bring it up!)

Sure, I’m a guy who enjoys attention, affirmation, and a good accolade or two. It used to be if I didn’t get a heapin’ helpin’ of it from somebody, my go-to was, “They don’t like me,” “She’s mad at me,” or “I wonder what I did.”

What I’ve learned is that they’re fine! I venture I haven’t even occurred to them 99% of the time! One quick non-related friendly conversation usually clears up any doubt.

So forget about it! Ask God to help you live in a way that honors him.

He’ll give you all the love and attention you’ll ever need!
