I’ve always admired all of those who take in foster children. It takes such love, unselfishness, and hard work. It just amazes me.

So, when I learned my brother and his wife were going to foster children, I was in awe! They’ve fostered children in their homes for many years now, always caring for these children like they were their own. They took time with these children and showed them unconditional love.

I know it wasn’t always easy, but they kept the course. They always took these precious children to church. Many had never been. In fact, they fostered three children at once, two brothers and a sister, for more than a year.

One Sunday, the oldest accepted the Jesus as his Savior. Of course, we all attended his baptism. It was such a sweet ceremony. He got so excited that he interrupted the pastor and said, “Let’s just do it!” We all thought that these precious kids would be a part of our family, but that didn’t happen.

Then we met Julian! 89.5 KVNE East Texas Christian Radio Train Up a Child Heard On Air BlogHe’s a precious child that had been taken out a home when he was two years old. He had not been taken care of and needed a lot of love.

They adopted sweet, fragile Julian. God placed this beautiful child in my brother and sister-in-law’s arms, and we never looked back! Now I have a new precious nephew.

He enjoys his family and the love he receives from all us! He also loves church. Evidently my brother’s church has been studying, “100 Days of Heaven.” I wanted to share a conversation that Julian had with his mother:

Today’s precious moment:

Julian: We go to Heaven in 100 days?

Me: Well, we will go one day. Do you think it will be beautiful?

Julian: Yea. I want to go there, but not on the cross.

Me: Isn’t it great that Jesus did that for us so we don’t have to?

I’m grateful for his wonderful teachers both at school and church who are telling him about Jesus. He’s getting it!

You may think young kids don’t understand some things, but they are always listening. They are so forthcoming and honest. I am so proud of my brother and sister-in-law, not only fostering and loving kids, but also introducing Jesus Christ to all of the children they fostered!

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
