Easter is an emotional holiday for me. Now I don’t mean when I’m picking out a new outfit, or planning dinner with family, but when I start to focus on what Christ did for me, I can’t help but get emotional.

How He took the blame, the consequences for our sins, ultimately giving His life for us! When I think about Jesus’ carrying my sins, let alone the sins of the whole world, it’s overwhelming. What have I done to deserve that? Nothing. How could I ever repay Him for what He’s done for me?

In the Bible, David says

“What shall I render the Lord for all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord.” — Psalm 116:12

Pretty cool – David is saying his gift back to God is to receive what He had done for him; to take what God had in store for him; to call on the name of the Lord!

Honestly, there’s no way we could ever repay God for all He does for us. He doesn’t need us to do that. He does want us to come to Him, to live our lives for Him, and to tell others of His love.
