Something indescribable happens when we hear music we love. Certainly, the words play a big part. A positive message, a compelling theme, or a reminder of a Savior who loves us. We all get that. We all need that!

But beyond the lyrics is the music itself. It soothes us, uplifts us, and energizes us. What is it about a well-crafted series of chords, rhythms, and melodies that moves our souls? There’s almost something supernatural about it. It sets us apart from other God-created species.

You may or may not necessarily be a “music person,” but you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who didn’t have at least one “favorite song.” A song that holds a special memory. One that speaks to you personally. Or it just “has a good beat and it’s easy to dance to.”

Whatever the reason, God didn’t have to give us music, art, color, or anything beautiful. But He did. It’s one of so many ways he shows just how much He loves us!
