My wife and I were watching some videos on Facebook and I came across this one. We both think it’s interesting when different objects are crushed, so we watched.

At some point, this gold will lose its value if it’s crushed too many times, leaving different marks, stains, imperfections, etc.

Then it hit me. Aren’t you glad that’s not how God sees us? His Word tells us that we will have troubles in this world (John 16:33). We will fall. We will be crushed. We will experience heartache. We will lose friends and family members. Those trials in no way define who you are.

Because you’re worth infinitely more than the most precious item on this planet, you will never lose your value in God’s eyes. Jesus died on the cross and defeated the grave so you don’t have to worry about your value.

Your value isn’t found in yourself, in your job, in your friends, or even your family. It’s found in Jesus Christ.
