One of my favorite verses in the Bible comes from Philippians:
Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.
As we focus on things that annoy or anger us, we often completely miss the good and wonderful stuff that can change the way we feel.
I experienced this firsthand when I was asked to do something that in my mind was already done and seemed unnecessary.
It turns out that once I completed the task, I realized that it was fun and a total blessing to be asked to do it.
If you’re a chronic negative thinker, I get it, the struggle is a battle for the mind. Daily Bible reading and prayer are great weapons to attack this. It takes practice, but with perseverance it will get easier.
Here’s the good news: negative thoughts can be swapped with constructive ones, and the more that Godly substitution takes place, the more peace and joy we can experience.
