Now that Graduations have wrapped up, the sun and temperatures are rising, and people are planning even mini vacations (with or without kids), what better way to enter into the summer than with some new music. As always, I’m SO thankful for those who are part of our Music Crew who take a few minutes to vote on songs like these and others! If you want to have your voice heard too, you can sign-up right HERE.
Building 429, “Fear No More”
The guys from East TX are back, and joined by one-half of the group LoveCollide (you’ve probably heard their Christmas song “Mother of the Son of God” on KVNE). As festival season has begun, Building is popping-up around the country, playing familiar favorites BUT also creating and performing new ones like this one! Hopefully this means a new album is in the works. But while we wait, their most recent album, “Live the Journey” can be found in stores and online, where you can also find a devotional for each track on the album! Here’s a little more from Mount Pleasant native, Jason Roy, about “Fear No More”:
Phil Wickham, “Till I Found You”
You may think “this isn’t a new song” if you’ve been listening to our sister station, 91.3 KGLY, the last few days. We decided to introduce the acoustic version of this powerful new one from Phil first at KGLY, but couldn’t keep the fully-produced version away from you too long! Even though Phil’s focus recently has been putting final touches on his “Singalong 4” project, he’s excited this second song off the “Living Hope” album is spreading like wildfire. Here’s a live performance of it at the Singalong 4 recording at Harvest Orange County in California:
Newsboys, “Greatness of Our God”
If you grew up listening to the Newsboys in the era of “Step Up to the Microphone” or “Thrive,” then some familiar voices on this newest song may make you smile a bit. At the end of last year, an announcement was made that Peter Furler and Phil Joel would be coming back to the band to join Michael Tait and the rest on tour and in the studio, launching their new album “United.” This song is the first single off the project, which if you’re planning on going to Spirit of Austin Fest in August, you’ll get to hear live. Until then, here’s a little more from Peter and Michael about the song:
